Dr. Nisha Patel is a skilled physician with certifications in cardiometabolic health, internal medicine, obesity and culinary medicine, menopause, and clinical lipidology. She earned her medical degree from the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Patel is currently the Director of an innovative obesity medicine program in San Francisco, where she cares for medically complex pre- and post-organ transplant patients.
Blending her expertise in cardiometabolic health and nutrition with a passion for culinary literacy, Dr. Patel empowers her patients to develop sustainable, lifelong healthy eating habits. She is especially dedicated to helping women improve their cardiometabolic health throughout their lives, from pre-pregnancy to menopause. A frequent speaker and presenter, Dr. Patel shares her insights with physicians, medical trainees, and the public. She also maintains an active social media presence on Instagram and X (@DrPlantel), where she educates and inspires followers on evidence-based obesity medicine, cardiometabolic health, and nutrition.
Alessandra Henderson is an entrepreneur, thought leader and investor on a mission to transform women’s healthcare. Alessandra co-co-founded Elektra Health, a virtual care platform closing the menopause care gap via evidence-based telemedicine, education and community. Under her tenure as Elektra CEO, Alessandra raised $7M+ from leading investors including University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Flare Partners and Seven Seven Six, and led Elektra’s go-to-market strategy across top payer and provider systems including Mass General Brigham Health Plan, EmblemHealth, UPMC and beyond. Prior to Elektra Health, Alessandra spent 10+ years building early-stage consumer businesses on the founding team at Artsy, the MIT NYC Startup Studio, and Human Ventures. She holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from MIT Sloan, and her work has been covered by The NY Times, Fast Company, Bloomberg, Techcrunch, Fortune, Forbes, and more.
